Work with the Elderly

Mission Without Borders works with local churches to ensure that the elderly people in a community are given adequate support and food. Often this is achieved by establishing feeding centres, sometimes it is done through volunteers visiting people who are particularly vulnerable and in need of assistance. We have described below the story of three such feeding centres, established in Sofia in Bulgaria in 2004.
Working with three different churches, our feeding centres are set up in their premises and staffed by their church members, many of whom are volunteers. Every church has a co-worker who also helps the elderly visitors with emotional and spiritual support.
